WiiM Pro Offline After Firmware Update
Forget the device, add it again — and never factory reset.
If a WiiM Pro shows Offline in the WiiM Home app right after a firmware update, the device may still be finishing the update or the app has lost its connection. In most cases, removing the device from the app and adding it again resolves it.
Do NOT factory reset
Never factory reset unless instructed by Argus IT or WiiM Support. Forgetting the device in the app does not erase it or its streaming configuration — a factory reset means configuring from scratch.
⚡  The 30-second version
  • Open the WiiM Home app.
  • Device shows Offline? Forget Device.
  • Tap Add Device and follow the prompts.
  • Let any firmware update complete.
  • Rename the device back to its original name if needed.
  • Test playback (Soundtrack.io) to confirm.
🔧  The full procedure
1
Verify the device. Powered on? Wait 2–5 minutes after an update in case it's still rebooting, then refresh the app.
2
Forget the device: WiiM Home → select the offline WiiM Pro → Device Settings → Forget Device → confirm. (This only removes it from the app — nothing on the device is erased.)
3
Add it again: tap Add Device (+), let the app discover it, follow the setup. If a firmware update is available, it begins automatically.
4
Let the update finish. Don't unplug the WiiM Pro; wait for 100% and the automatic reboot — the app should show "Update Complete."
5
Verify: device shows Online, then open Soundtrack.io and play music.
💡 Restore the name: after re-adding, the custom name may revert to a default like "WiiM Pro-DD80." Device Settings → Device Name → rename it back to the location name (e.g. "Sunset Center").
🔨  Quick troubleshooting
Offline after an update
Wait several minutes; still offline, forget and re-add.
Update starts after adding
Expected — let it complete without disconnecting power.
Name changed to "WiiM Pro-XXXX"
Rename under Device Settings → Device Name.
Soundtrack.io settings missing
Uncommon — verify the streaming config; sign back into Soundtrack.io if needed.
Still offline after the update
Restart the WiiM Pro and check the network. Unresolved → ticket Argus IT.
Music won't play
Confirm the update completed and the device is online, then test Soundtrack.io again.
🆘  When you can't fix it
Place a ticket with Argus IT before contacting the vendor. Include: device location (e.g. Sunset Center) · firmware version if known · online or offline · whether Soundtrack.io plays · any errors/screenshots from the WiiM Home app.
