Optimum Control Guide
Adding & Managing Employees
Access levels, logins, and who to call — a two-minute read.
ℹ
This is how employee logins and access levels are managed inside Optimum Control. It's a manager / administrator topic — decisions here affect data security and who can change costing.
⚠
How this actually works at Argus
Each licensed workstation uses one shared login, and everyone on it is admin-level — individual employee logins aren't used here. Don't create personal accounts on your own; this documents the screens for managers and reference. (These logins are separate from your Argus network account — none of this goes through IT.)
👤 Add, edit, or remove an employee
1 Click Settings (upper-left corner).
4 Pick someone to edit / delete, or click New to add one.
5 Enter their info. Only three fields are required: first name, email, username.
6 Set their access level (see below).
🔒 Set the access level — don't skip this
New employees default to "Administrator" — full access to everything. Always change it to match the person's role before saving.
Counting staff Enter inventory — not recipes or full costing.
Supervisors May need invoices and orders.
Managers Need reporting and setup functions.
Administrator Reserved for the few who run the system.
Give people the least access that lets them do their job — it protects your data from accidental damage.
💡 Good practice
- Login changes are a management call — moving to individual logins is your F&B manager's decision.
- When someone who knew the shared login leaves, your manager may change the password (KB-210001).
- If individual accounts exist, review them occasionally and match access to current roles.
🍶 If something goes wrong
Program problem — crashes, failed saves, a report that won't run → Support@tracrite.net
"Why does my data look like this?" → your F&B manager or exec chef
Hardware, network, licensing, OC missing → Argus IT
