Guest WiFi Connection Issues
Keep the guest happy — and know when it's their device, not our network.
ℹ
Wi-Fi is fantastic for staff and guests alike — until it doesn't work. Work through these steps in order to make sure the guest is happy and you don't have a bad day.
📶 Work through these in order
1 Right network? Our hotels can have Guest and Visitor access — and in some cases staff/admin networks. Confirm the guest is connecting to the proper one. Then verify with your own phone that you can connect — if you can't either, follow the same steps below yourself.
2 Give the sign-in page a moment. After selecting the network, the landing page (captive portal) can take a few seconds — it may need a browser opened and a random site searched to trigger it. If the portal never loads, connect to the network again.
3 Forget and reconnect. In the guest's Wi-Fi settings, forget the network, then reconnect. Still nothing? Restart the device.
4 Still failing — for you too? Call the 24-hour support line for the hotel's Wi-Fi access vendor.
5 Windows device? One last step: press the Windows key, type Troubleshoot, press Enter, choose Network Adapter, then Wi-Fi, and run the troubleshooter. If nothing is corrected — you're out of luck. At least you tried.
💡 If your phone connects fine but the guest's doesn't, there's a 99% chance it's the guest's device. They will say they never have issues, that this is the very first time — but if you're connecting with no problems, the problem is the device.
