Opera Interface Server Migration
The once-every-five-to-seven-years checklist for Manteo and the Eldorado.

Every five to seven years the interface server needs replacing at Manteo and the Eldorado. Here's everything you need to have (or do) for the process to go smoothly.
✅  The checklist
  • Interface service accounts. Manteo has two: IFCJazzware and IFCSquirrel. The Eldorado doesn't have any yet — the attached document explains how to create them. Elavon does not need one.
  • Elavon Bridge installed on the new server ahead of time. Schedule an Elavon tech support member to be on call in case Opera needs them during the migration.
  • Approval of the Oracle Support Request. First time? The attached guide has detailed instructions — the Oracle tech needs approval for access to services.
  • A user with Administrator AND Chain Administrator privileges.
  • The Opera server login handy — the installer needs it to build the new interfaces.
  • The new server takes the old server's IP. This lets you migrate the interfaces without contacting vendors, since their interfaces point at the original IP.
  • Fully updated server — all major updates and firmware.
  • Hardware: a serial interface for Squirrel, 16 GB RAM, 500 GB HD.
